Cultural Day – 29 November 2025
On Saturday, 29 November 2025, the Luxembourg Caribbean Carnival Association (LCCA) hosted a vibrant Cultural Day at Bâtiment 4 in Esch-sur-Alzette, celebrating the shared rhythms, flavors, and creativity of the Caribbean. The event brought people together to experience the joy of music and dance through three participative sessions that were designed to unite cultures and generations. “Together for Jamaica” was featured as a highlight, with a portion of net food sales designated for contribution to Jamaica hurricane Melissa relief effort.
Participants discovered the warm, melodic tones of Trinidad’s iconic steelpan in our workshop, supported by the Ministry of Family and led by the renowned Toussaint Clarke.

They then explored the soul of African-Caribbean rhythm through a djembé drum workshop, beautifully delivered by Production d´Artistes Pluriels. The workshops culminated in a special steelpan-djembé medley combining both traditions.

The day wrapped up with contagious energy at the soca dance workshop taught by the ever-vibrant Soca Butterfly, spreading pure island vibes across the room.

Our Caribbean food stand added an authentic island touch, offering delicious bites that attendees enjoyed throughout the day.

Games, Laughter & Good Vibes
Participants also enjoyed playing Connect 4, which added to the fun and relaxed ambiance.

A Touch of Cocoa Butter Luxury
Another special highlight was the stand featuring high-quality cocoa butter products that everyone loved discovering.

Reflecting on the Day
While the atmosphere buzzed with creativity and cultural exchange, attendance was lower than expected, – resulting in food sales falling short of event expenses. Nonetheless, we deeply appreciate everyone who showed up and supported the spirit of community connection. Events like these remind us of the resilience and passion that continue to drive our initiatives forward.

Production d´Artistes Pluriels for providing the djembe drums and endless fun; the Soca Butterfly for her energetic, lively soca dance class; and Jamaica Red Alert for assisting with delicious food and their funky bar beverages, which participants loved.
Many thanks to Bâtiment 4 for generously lending their incredible, artsy space—it’s alive with energy, though a bit tricky to find (we’ll clarify directions next time). Thanks also to Ramenshifu, without whom our signature rum punch sales wouldn’t have been possible.
