Kes the band becomes first Soca Act to sell out Two Nights at SummerStage

Trinidad and Tobago’s internationally celebrated soca star, Kes the Band, has made history again, becoming the first soca act to sell out two consecutive SummerStage concerts at Central Park, New York.

Tickets for the Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July 2025 performances sold out within hours, showcasing the band’s global appeal.

This milestone builds on their groundbreaking debut at SummerStage in June 2024, where Kes became the first soca act to headline the venue. That performance paved the way for this year’s double booking, reaffirming their status as global ambassadors for soca music.

Led by frontman Kees Dieffenthaller, the band celebrates its 20th anniversary this year—a year filled with achievements. Their hit single Cocoa Tea, released in November 2024, has topped regional charts and amassed over 11 million views on YouTube.

Another landmark moment was IzWe Festival – Full Circle, held on Tuesday 25 February, featured performances from Patrice Roberts, Mical Teja, Marge Blackman and Nadia Batson.

Presented by CityParks, SummerStage spotlights world-class talent. The band’s sold-out shows mark a cultural victory. “This is more than music, it’s a movement. Soca to the world!” said Dieffenthaller.
