BARBADOS TRIP GIVEAWAY – OFFICIAL RULES

Organiser
The “Barbados Trip Giveaway” (the “Promotion”) is organised by the Luxembourg Caribbean Carnival Association (LCCA), 7 Boulevard John F. Kennedy, L‑1855 Luxembourg (the “Organiser”), in association with Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI).

Prize: Provided by Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI).

Promotion Period

The Promotion runs from Sunday 29 March 2026, 16:00 CET until Sunday 19 July 2026, 18:00 CET (the “Promotion Period”). All entries must be received before the end of the Promotion Period.

Eligibility

Open worldwide to individuals aged 18 years or older at the time of entry.
Void where prohibited or restricted by law, including by local law in the entrant’s country of residence.
Directors and carnival committee members of the Organiser, BTMI, their affiliates, and each of their immediate family members or persons living in the same household (spouse/partner, parents, siblings, children) are not eligible to enter or win.
The conditions under which a selected winner may claim the prize are set out in Section 7

To be eligible, entrants must:

Have an Instagram account that allows the Organiser to verify both that the account is following @luxsocafusion and @visitbarbados and that the account has commented on the official giveaway post on @luxsocafusion.
Be following @luxsocafusion and @visitbarbados at the time eligibility is verified and the winner is selected.
Tag at least one friend in the comments on the official giveaway post on @luxsocafusion.
As an optional extra step, participants may post a story on Instagram tagging @luxsocafusion and @visitbarbados.
By entering, participants confirm they meet all eligibility requirements and agree to be bound by these Official Rules.

How to Enter (Free – No Purchase Necessary)

Participation is free. No purchase is necessary, and no fee, booking charge, or payment is required to enter.

During the Promotion Period, eligible individuals may enter as follows:

Visit the Organiser’s Weezevent page:

Complete the free ticket request form on Weezevent, providing:
- Legal full name (as shown on valid photo ID).
- Valid email address.
- Instagram username (@handle).
- Tick the checkbox: “I am 18+ and want to enter the Barbados Trip Giveaway.”
- Tick the corresponding checkbox on Weezevent to confirm acceptance of these Official Rules and related data‑protection terms.

By submitting the free registration form and selecting the giveaway checkbox, the participant receives one (1) entry into the Promotion, provided all eligibility criteria in Section 3 are met.

Entry into the Promotion does not guarantee that the participant will be eligible to claim the prize if selected, as the winner must also satisfy the prize‑claim conditions in Section 7 (Winner Notification and Claiming the Prize), including having their ticket scanned at the entrance to the Carnival Village and being present at the live draw.

Only tickets with the giveaway opt‑in box ticked, the Official rules acceptance ticked and all required fields completed will be included in the draw.

One entry per person.

Entries that appear to duplicate another entry (for example, using a slightly different name, email, or handle for the same person), or that appear automated, bulk, or otherwise non‑compliant, may be disqualified where the Organiser reasonably believes the entry is not a genuine, good‑faith single entry.

In all instances, the winner’s legal name on the entry ticket must match the name shown on the valid photo ID presented at the time of claiming the prize.

Prize (Provided by BTMI)

One (1) winner will receive a BTMI prize package for the winner and one (1) guest, consisting of:

Round‑trip economy airfare from Luxembourg to Bridgetown, Barbados.
Five (5) nights hotel accommodation (double occupancy, daily breakfast included).
Approximate retail value: €6,000.

BTMI Prize Conditions:

All travel must be completed by 31 July 2027; no extensions granted.
Blackout dates apply: 16 December 2026 – 15 April 2027.
Booking dates subject to availability at the time of confirmation.
Once itinerary and travel dates are decided, contact jayme@visitbarbados.org to finalise arrangements and ticketing.
No stopovers or multi‑city itineraries allowed.
Post‑confirmation changes may incur fees and depend on availability.
The prize is non‑transferable, non‑refundable, and not redeemable for cash.
Travel insurance, personal expenses, and any costs not explicitly mentioned are the sole responsibility of the winner and guest.
Any tax liability in connection with the prize is borne by the winner.
Both travellers must follow the same itinerary.
Neither BTMI nor LCCA are liable for travel delays, cancellations, or interruptions.
The prize may not be sold or distributed for commercial use.

This exclusive package is made possible by Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) and Luxembourg Caribbean Carnival Association (LCCA).

Winner Selection and Public Draw
After the Promotion Period expires, the Organiser will compile the list of eligible entries for the draw, consisting of:

Weezevent submissions with the giveaway opt‑in checkbox ticked, and
the Official Rules and data‑protection‑terms checkbox ticked, and
that also meet the Instagram requirements set out in Section 3, and
for which the corresponding event ticket has been scanned at the entrance to the Carnival Village.

From this list, one (1) winner will be selected by a random draw.
The draw will take place live on 19 July 2026 at Lux Soca Fusion Caribbean Village (main stage, time to be announced). The Organiser may display or record the draw for transparency.

Winner Notification and Claiming the Prize

Immediately after the live draw, the Organiser will contact the drawn entrant using:

Direct message to the Instagram handle provided, and
Email to the address submitted in the entry form.

Simultaneously, the winner’s legal full name will be announced on stage.

To claim the prize, the selected winner must:

Be physically present at the Caribbean Village during the announcement.
Approach the main stage within three (3) minutes of announcement, or as soon as reasonably possible if crowd conditions or venue access reasonably prevent immediate approach; otherwise an alternate winner may be drawn.
Present:
- Their event ticket, and
- A valid, physical photo identification document (such as a passport or EU identity card), not expired and not a photocopy or digital image, matching the name on the Weezevent form.

The winning ticket must have been scanned at the entrance to the Carnival Village and the selected winner must be present at the live draw on 19 July 2026. Tickets that were not scanned at the entrance will not be considered valid for the prize.

The Organiser will then verify that the winner satisfies all eligibility criteria. The Organiser may require additional proof of eligibility (including proof of age, residence, or Instagram eligibility) before awarding the prize.
If the selected winner is not present, fails to reach the stage within the timeframe, fails verification, or does not meet the eligibility requirements, an alternate eligible winner may be drawn immediately.

Taxes and Other Costs

All taxes, duties, and fees related to the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. The Organiser may be required to report the prize value to relevant authorities.

Publicity

By accepting the prize, the winner authorises the Organiser and partners to use their name, likeness, image, and Instagram handle for reasonable promotional purposes related to the event or this Promotion, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.

Data Protection and Privacy

The Organiser is the data controller for personal data (name, email, Instagram handle) collected via Weezevent.

By entering, participants acknowledge that the Organiser will process the personal data provided in connection with this Promotion for the purposes of:

Managing event registration and access;
Administering the Promotion and confirming the winner;
Coordinating the prize with BTMI and partners, including verifying eligibility, selecting and contacting the winner, and arranging prize fulfilment.

The lawful basis for this processing is the Organiser’s legitimate interests in running the Promotion and performing these Official Rules, and, where applicable, the entrant’s explicit consent for any optional marketing communications.

Personal data may be shared with BTMI solely as necessary to arrange the prize. Data will be retained only as needed for these purposes and as required by law. Details of data handling, retention periods, and participants’ rights under the GDPR are outlined in the Organiser’s Privacy Policy.

General Conditions

The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any participant who tampers with the entry process, provides false information, or breaches these Rules.

The Organiser is not responsible for lost, incomplete, corrupted, or delayed entries, or technical issues affecting participation. If external circumstances (e.g. severe weather, war, pandemic, or event cancellation) prevent execution, the Organiser may modify, suspend, or cancel the Promotion.

The Organiser may amend these Official Rules only where necessary for legal, operational, or force majeure reasons, and in a way that does not materially disadvantage entrants who have already entered the Promotion. Any material changes will be communicated where reasonably possible.

Governing Law

These Rules are governed by the laws of Luxembourg. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Luxembourg courts, without prejudice to mandatory local consumer rights.

Instagram Disclaimer

This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram. By participating, entrants release Instagram from all liability related to this Promotion. Entrants provide information to the Organiser, not to Instagram.

Instagram has no role in the administration, prize selection, or verification of this Promotion.
